With another year over, it’s time once again for the Social Media Awards—when we examine the bigger picture and analyze social media data throughout 2019. These are the most successful Fashion Brands and Retailers in Germany over the span of 12 months.
To determine the most successful brands as well as the year’s top posts, we consider all categories including articles, pictures and videos. Total interactions are measured across the platforms of Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
Let’s take a look.
2019’s most successful Fashion Brands and Retailers:
EMP once again pulls far ahead of their competition in 2019, coming in at 1st place with nearly 8.5 million total interactions on social media. OTTO takes 2nd place with more than 3.4 million total interactions, followed by Zalando Deutschland, who achieved 2.5 million total interactions in 3rd place.
EMP has over 1.2 million fans on Facebook, 304 thousand followers on Instagram and 28.2 thousand Twitter followers. Instagram and Facebook are their most powerful social media platforms, with millions of interactions across each network.
OTTO has a total of more than 1.1 million Facebook fans, 133 thousand followers on Instagram and 28.2 thousand Twitter followers.
Instagram earned 4x more interactions in 2019 than OTTO’s most followed network, Facebook.
#3: Zalando Deutschland
An impressive total of over 7 million Facebook fans follow Zalando DE, but Instagram is still their most efficient social media platform: Facebook pulled in nearly 567 thousand interactions in 2019, while Instagram pulled in more than 1.9 million interactions.
Most successful article of the year:
The top article in Germany’s fashion brand / retailer industry was this one posted by EMP. Published in July, the tribute to the late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park fame earned 4.463 total interactions on Facebook.
Most successful picture of the year:
Online German fashion retailer ABOUT YOU gained approximately 105.000 Instagram interactions last April with this group shot taken at the 2019 ABOUT YOU Awards.
Most successful video of the year:
After attracting over 19.500 interactions for their live wheel-spin giveaway video back in October, EMP claims the title of most successful video in 2019. In general, social media posts featuring contests which allow participants to win prizes do unsurprisingly well.
